[INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY & IMAGING]
The first week of the digital photography and imaging course, it was just a brief introduction to what the subject has to offer. Mr. Fauzi read through the module information booklet along with the temporary assistance from Mr. Martin the class read through it together. In the next session, Mr. Fauzi guided the class through the first week's lecture slides about photoshop and he gave tips on how to be a 'successful graphic designer' within that session. Mr. Fauzi also showcased and displayed some of the past students' work to the class in a way of giving a heads-up on what to expect when working on our first exercises and projects.
Practical Session
In week 1's practical Mr. Fauzi assigned a task to accumulate 3 different graphic designs preferably one's, we favored and write a description on them. It was really fun to go through so many types of graphic art from different aspects, it was even hard to choose which ones I really favored.
Throughout of the ones I chose, being able to scroll through a lot of them definitely would be a good inspiration.
Design #1
Description: Out of every poster or graphic art illustrated that I was scrolling through caught my eye. It has simple colors, the organized and aligned typography that was pleasing to the eye, and the creative addition of maybe the illustrator of this graphic art placed herself as the main subject along with an overlay of butterflies to have her graphic art appear fuller. To me, it has a sense of simplicity and a common kind of aesthetic to it.
Design #2
Description: The first thing that came to mind when I looked at this graphic art are all the lines and complementary colors surrounding the borders of the illustration and even covering up the background. The subject, an image of a lady posing with her chin resting upon her face could interpret how the illustration wants to display the beauty in the lady’s facial or simply branding and promoting cosmetics. Since there aren’t any typefaces or text in this one. It could be interpreted into any kind of art aspect.
Design #3
Description: Lastly I’m sharing a poster that my favorite band’s artist manager that promotes their shows, concerts, or tours around the world is one of my favorite graphic art that has been illustrated. If I'm not mistaken Andy Deluca and ‘5 seconds of summer's team helped design and worked on illustrating the piece. It’s a very interesting way to portray their concerts that could be interpreted that their shows are ‘out of this world’. The perspectives and scale on this graphic art are also worth pointing out since that pulls me into observing the poster even more.
End.
