Practical Session
DESCRIPTION:
The composition displayed is an exercise where I learned to use the pen tool and the lasso tool along with getting to know a little bit about the layer panel in Adobe Photoshop. Though before starting out in using the pen tool and lasso tools in photoshop, Mr. Fauzi suggested trying out a game that is similar to the uses of the pen tool in Adobe PS. The game is called ‘The Bezier Game’, it offers a way to understand how a pen tool would work in the program, it displays shapes that are meant to be traced over as practice to be applied into the photoshop when it's finally being used.
From then on, I worked on the collage in photoshop, did the respective of cutting out the elements that Mr. Fauzi told us to cut out as week 3’s exercise, and worked on 3 different compositions. The one displayed above was the one that Mr. Fauzi suggested further refinement on.
WEEK 4 (ADJUSTMENT LAYERS & FILTERS
DESCRIPTION:
For the last exercise in week 4 and the finalization of Project 1B, the composition above is a more refined refinement of my composition to better apply the new topics that the class learned during this week.
In the last exercise, Mr. Fauzi taught us how to apply blending options onto our elements and how to adjust them in an adjustment layer to a determined setting of color, contrast, or heaviness, and lightness we desire it to be. I messed around with the blending options a lot more than applying filters which was also a new thing we learned to be practiced during the exercise.
The composition I had last week compared to last week, I decided on arranging it with fewer elements since I had many more in the last. It made it easier to work on the blending options with different elements, although adding multiple elements in each layer could be a possibility that could be owned up to, although it needs more practice and exploration.
I still had a few elements from the previous composition but made sure it still had a sense of what my last composition was so it wouldn’t look too different because it was mentioned by Mr. Fauzi that that shouldn’t happen. I then blended an elemental texture as a start-off in the background and worked on the fishes with the blending options as well.
What I got to learn from this exercise is, managing what colors would contrast better when in a particular blended option.
Wow! I'm glad that you've managed to differentiate the process.
ReplyDeleteNow we can see the different of WEEK 3 & WEEK 4.
Your WEEK 4 is more simplify and organized. The saturated color blending is just nicely done!
Good job Athirah!
