Project 1 - Landing Page Design
September 24th, 2021 (Week4)
-
Mr. Tarmizi had the class start out our first project, in this project we are meant to design a landing page of our choice with the contents that will be put into it.
We are assigned to come up with sketches and further the design on the landing page. I decided on the kind of content on my landing page relating to crafting.
First I sketched the page layout idea as seen below:
After determining the layout, I worked my way on planing out the color palette of the landing page, my final page design can be seen below:
After receiving Mr. Tarmizi's feedback on design a foot into my sketch, I started off by referencing off simple crafting websites and focused on how the website designer work out the navigation bar, contents, and footer on their websites, as seen below:

Later then, I worked on a similar color palette I had in my detailed sketch, I wanted to maintain the contrast between orange and magenta in my sketch and since the images stated in the brief are to be static, I did my best to insert appealing images relating to crafting with the solid background color as a filter.

As seen above, I played around with the position still maintaining the elements from my sketch, only changing the positions to make added images feel as if they fit in.

For the rest of the pages for the landing page, I decided on painting a solid colored background. Still in attempts of experimenting with different elements too.

For the fourth page as seen above, I decided on cutting down the text examples seen in my sketches and added a sample craft image and the colored filter, maintaining the same elements seen in my sketches.

Reflection
-October 8th, 2021
The first project for interactive design is to design a landing page to later then be implemented and followed up into the upcoming project. What I was able to reflect when carrying out this project is to manage the principles well when putting in different elements to build a website, a landing page for this matter.
It should require the right amount of information but keeping the appearance of the page neat and simple but at the same time appealing. Colors are just as important, making sure they complement each other or even a little bit of contrast put into it.
I'm not the best at colors and making websites, but it was an interesting way for me to not splash a bunch of colors into one page. I had to think carefully when it came to the contents I wanted to display and the colors that feel as if they fit in all together.
