Lectures

Week 1 Lecture:

The first week of design research methodology class was only a brief introduction to our module booklet by Dr. Norhayati and Dr. Jinchi, a small lecture to start out our first task in class and at the end of a session, a bunch of experts in the whole design specialization came forth to answer a few desired questions by the class on which and what specialization to choose.

Other than that, there were already recorded lectures for each week for the class to use as a reference in starting out our proposal.

Week 2  Lecture:

In the second week, it was the start of consultation for each of the students' proposals from their respected tutors.

Week 3  Lecture:

In this week's class, Dr. Hayati and Dr. Jinchi gave a brief reminder on our proposals and their deadlines. Other than that, we were assigned to further our exercises on Times where Dr. Hayati prepared exercises for the class to do from 12:00pm to 2:00pm.

Week 4 Lecture:

There was no lecture due to a public holiday (Malaysia Day), although completion of the proposal was in commence.

Week 5 Lecture:

This week's lecture was all about moving into our second assignment 'Critical reviews' and how to write on it. Dr. Hayati gave brief understanding on how to carry out our 2nd assignment, that being searching for 5 article that correlates to our research problem in our proposal and writing a summary on each of them.

Research Proposal (August 26th, 2021. Week 1)

Starting off the first task. we are required to choose a topic within the domains of multimedia, art and design, and visual culture on what we want to study and then focus on a specific aspect of that topic. We are also meant to:

-find a topic of interest
-apply research to the topic of interest
-write out a 200 - 300 word proposal to support the research.

Research Proposal (September 2nd, 2021. Week 2)

After being consulted by Dr. Hayati on my proposal about my research problem being 'the fear of 2D animation losing its roots to 3D animation', Dr. Hayati gave feedback and explained my further research on making the topic a bit more specified on whether to spread out my research out based on the animation industry's point of view or the audiences.

With that, I wanted to further my research on behalf of the audiences' point of view and opinion on the research problem and so, I drafted the previous problem, tweaking the rationale, and got started on the problem statement itself.

Research Proposal (September 9th, 2021. Week 3)

Dr. Hayati acknowledged the second attempt of my proposal still needing a few tweaks when it comes to the research questions and research objectives. Other than that, Dr. Hayati accepted the problem research and commented on how I should have a few more scholarly articles as a reference to support my opinionated references supporting my words to the problem of my research.

So I dug a little deeper and did what I could to finish off and complete a much more 'not too broad' and 'specified' research question and research objectives.

Resulting in this final piece:
