Week 1 - Minor Project
Minor Project Brief
September 1st, 2022
-
In Minor Project, a module that revolves around being in groups and constantly
communicating amongst your peers or selected teammates in assigned groups,
this module is going to have its new outlook applied to me and many other
students that were there on the first week of coming back to campus.
Mr. Mike our lecturer and tutor, as well as one of the coordinators of this
module will guide and assign us throughout these 14 weeks of our group
projects, but before we dive deep into this blog discussion regarding my
personal experience, allow me to provide what was mentioned about the project
brief by Mr. Mike in the simplest way possible.
MiB Brief and Class Introduction
The tasks that were put out and guided through in class with Mr. Mike were:
- Task 1: Propose an innovative project, a proposal as a group.
The first task starts at the same time as the students being assigned into
groups, or to form groups with a variety of schools/faculties/programs
(exp; UI/UX, Graphic Design, Entertainment, and Animation). Students of
those following programs are to be in groups to be able to achieve these
projects' execution from many kinds of perspectives with students from
different schools.
Everything regarding the kind of project that will be executed was provided
and generously organized by Mr. Mike. When my group was formed, all we had to
do next was work on the proposal for the next few weeks.
Project proposal sections:
- Executive summary
- Background
- Resources
- Solving the problem(s)
- Budget & Timeline
- Task 2: Devise and produce design management protocols relevant to industry practice.
From my interpretations and understandings, the second task/project is
continuous from the form, the groups of students are meant to execute, have
productive workflows of their chosen projects to uphold, and create prototypes
towards the final weeks of this semester.
- Task 3: Produce the final presentation of the proposed solution to a panel of reviewers
The final task is to make sure every part of the group project was documented
and arranged neatly into miro and/or google docs (project tracker doc), along
with a presentation to propose/present the prototype of the chosen assigned
issue.
Other than that, what was shown in the first week of Minor's project class was
a slide that Mr. Mike showcased for students to refer to the outcomes of this
module and the projects that will be assigned to them, which can be seen
below:
(Project_briefing_minor_project_by_Mr. Mike)
In the slides, there were multiple insights that regard multidisciplinary,
which is something that would be the highlights of this module along with the
variety of collaborative issued projects for students to team up into and
begin their planning and execution from then on.
Week 2 - Meetings commence & What is Design?
R&D studio meeting | Design Thinking
September 5th, 2022
The second week into the module; Minor project, Mr. Mike gave the class an
understanding of what design is, a way to also dive deeper into our
collaborative projects
What is design?
In simpler words what design is:
- A work, a symbol, of creating a solution
- A simple act of creation
Throughout the insights that were given out by Mr. Mike, the lecture he gave
was to assist in my group's next move to progress through our project.
Another factor that was emphasized during the lecture was working out our
problem statement when working on the 'Empathy' part of our project.
Problem statement: (combinations)
- Keywords: need, because, ...
- User
- Need
- Insight
Other than that, in the second week of our group progression, my group and I
filled in the respective on our project tracking document (prepared by Mr.
Mike).
Later then, we began our contextual studies regarding our collaborative
project:
My part of contributing to the contextual studies of this project is to lay out an overview of the animation by R&D Studios that's in the making. It'd be an easier way for my teammates and me to go back and forth through each of our studies, making sure we don't stray away from our goal of completing the project.
After the completion of our contextual studies, Mr. Mike elaborated on how we
need to make up our user personas in preparation for the upcoming agendas to
progress into our project.
User Persona (profile) - maker: https://xtensio.com/
A user persona regarding our project is to assist and guide us in designing
our side characters, and to identify ways to support our already fixed
personas that are a part of the project.
Week 3 - Empathy map
Keeping track of Project direction
September 15th, 2022
What will be achieved in week 3?
1. Personas need to be locked in
- describe the persona
- Justify the persona
Based on the list of side characters that are meant to be a sub-part of our
project doings, we've accumulated these side characters, picking a maximum of
4 characters to work into a user profile.
But since our project collaborators assigned us to design side characters and
we have a targeted audience of tween girls, there were a few improvisations we
had to carry out to fill out the 'Empathy' parts for this project.
Side Characters list (Prepared by R&D studios):
My team set off to turn these side characters into user personas, ways to
support the dynamics that these side characters have with the main characters,
making sure that the side characters don't outshine the main characters.
Another thing to keep in mind in locking these user personas is to be to refer
to an online survey to progress into the project. The user persona will help
in why questions (for our online survey) were written the way that it is.
2. Should have an empathy map
An empathy map that refers to questions from the user personas, where it'd be
a:
- general question
- specific question
- other questions
My team and I are meant to brainstorm questions to ask these user personas, in
order to design an appropriate online survey and publicize to gain insights
and answers that will assist us in creating and designing these side
characters that could empathize with the wide answers that were questioned
amongst the determined targeted audience.
We've yet to fill in the empathy map since the online survey and/or interview
have not been carried out yet. My team and I would return to this matter once
the data has been accumulated.
-but even with the empty empathy map at hand, we quickly brainstormed
questions to forego our progress in the project.
3. Online Survey - Google forms
The simplest tool to use to design our online survey is google forms, but
before we did, my team and I worked together on our Miro board to come up with
questions and divide these questions into sections that will help in answering
our desired question that interrelates to our project.
The hopes of completing this part of our project should all be prepared and
semi-completed before the 4th week of Minor project class.
As seen above, there are a total of 4 sections:
- Demographics
- Animation
- School
- Sang Guardian Related Qs
These sections will help identify what my group and I can empathize with in
starting our design of these side characters - our initial goal.
Week 4 - Google Forms
Designing a google form - online survey
September 22nd, 2022
In the fourth week of our collaborative project, there were lectures held.
Therefore my team and I set off revising through our Miro board to find ways
to design our questions, especially questions that regard r&d's making of
their new upcoming animated series in assisting them with their side
characters and overall make-up of the animated series story.
My team and I listed out the number of sections we would want, we
started off with 4 sections:
- Demographics
- to be able to keep track of the age range of our respondents - attending to our targetted audience in our collab project
- school experiences
- Mr. Mike mentioned how this section could be potential assistance to R&D in progressing story in their animated series - with real-life experiences from kids at school
- Animated series
- giving the familiarity of animated series (locals/western) to the respondents - giving them the excitement of talking about their favorite cartoons or even knowing more about the cartoons that are local (in Malaysia) or even western-made cartoons
- Collab project relating questions
- this section of the survey would consist of ways to help my team and I do our part of this collab project by designing the following:
- side characters
- environments in animated series
Trial & Error -
There were a few trials and errors that were met when my team and I at least
tried to get a structure down for our online survey, the questions below were
scrapped:
MIP - Survey (Animated Children's Survey) - Draft
As seen in the pdf of our survey above, the questions might not be able to get
to our goal of the target audience which is kids/tweens when they take this
survey.
We consulted and discussed our issue with Mr. Mike and he gave a few ideas and
suggestions and acknowledged the type of language (ways we ask the question)
to be a lot more specific and less extravagant of words.
it allows them to partake in what they have been asked, it keeps their mind
going and they feel involved and it engages in their thoughts to really answer
the questions.
That was when these younglings take the survey they aren't bombarded or felt
overwhelmed with such questions.
Visuals were another thing to keep in mind, my team and I made sure to place
visuals to assist and make the survey more kid-friendly, but also one of the
reasons to ensure the kids/tween respondents don't get bored answering these
questions.
After our help was suggested by Mr. Mike through our consultation, we quickly
altered and added more to our online survey for it to be publicized.
MiP - Survey (Animated Children's Survey) - Completed
Once the survey was public, we waited for the responses for our next step in
progressing through the project.
Supposedly in the 5th week of our collaborative project, we are meant to pitch
our ideas and findings to our collaborators for further progress and feedback.
Week 5 - Interviewing Session
Interviewing our User Personas
September 28th, 2022
Once we were further into the fifth week of our project progress, our previous
works of publication our online response got a total of
43 responses and most possibly still counting until the 6th week when
my group and I will close off the online survey.
We received some feedback from Mr. Mike on the number of responses that we had
when we went into consultation, an interview was our next step.
In the previous weeks, we had already prepared a few interview questions as a
backup in case we had to carry out interviews to support our online survey
responses.
We had a total of 4 user personas that we had to look for interviews and we
managed t look for each of the user personas apart from a wheel-chair bound
tween. Therefore we went with:
- Tween (6/7 - 10)
- Tween (9/10 - 13)
- Teacher
We had our luck of interviewing Mr. Mike's son that meets the age of the
targetted age group that we're meant to interview, along with one of my group
mates, Zetie that interviewed their niece that's of the age of 10. One of my
other groupmates, Haura managed to find a 6-year-old for an interview.
Although before we progressed, in the span of interviewing Mr. Mike's son,
there was a slight issue that was identified, the interview questions that we
designed wouldn't have made sense if Mr. Mike's son wasn't the kind of kid
that was chatty.
Because the importance of this data accumulation is that it is a general
overview of children that correlates to the interview questions. This leads
our discussion to propose to our collaborators (R&D Studio) of this
project to have a much older preferred age range of older tweens (10 - 13)
rather than younger tweens (7 -10).
We went back to our little Whatsapp discussion group chat and worked our way
around searching/asking around for any 10 to 13-year-olds to interview instead
of progressing into interviewing 7 to 10-year-olds for data accumulation to
propose to the R&D studio a changed preferred age for the animation
project of the targetted audience.
-but then again Haura still interviewed her friend's little sister that is 6
years old, that was shy and seemed to not have any interest in the questions
during the interview. Which concluded and answered our predictions of how a
much more preferred targeted audience for this animated kid series project by
R&D Studio.
Interview questions (each user persona):
After each interview that happened in the span of a week, my group and I
prepared for the coming week to accumulate, analyze and discuss the data along
with research that will assist a proposal to the R&D studio on our
preferred age range ( 10 - 13 years old).
Week 6 - Data Analysis
Analyzing data from online surveys & interviews
October 6th, 2022
Into the 6th week, there was a minor rush in accumulating our data but my
teammates and I managed to finish what we had to gather to seek Mr. Mike's
consultation on our next step for proposal slides.
As seen below is everything that was accumulated for data analysis in our
Miro board:
Data Analysis (online survey):
Each and every question that was answered in each section of our survey was
accumulated, to be summarised into our slides. We did the same with the
interview questions and answers received by each of our interviewees.
Data Analysis (Interview):
Each team member worked on each user persona for those who interviewed the
following interviewee.
- Han Rong and Haura worked on filling in Interviewee (Tweens 7 - 10)
- Zetie and Lianne worked on filling in Interviewee (Tweens 10 - 12)
- Athirah (Me) worked on filling in Interviewee (Teacher)
Once we finished up our data analysis, Mr. Mike directed us into looking
through our "problem statements" and
"how might we" questions to progress into proposing and
preparing our slides for the following week of proposing our:
- contextual studies
- data analysis (online survey & interview)
- problem statement
- how might we questions
- art direction
The above shows a few of the problem statements that were formed
beforehand, it was going in a similar direction but it still needed a few
tweaks to it. There were a few errors that we faces when coming up with
our problem statements, but with the help of Mr. Mike's acknowledgments of
how SANG GARIDANS shouldn't only be an animated series that is directed
towards female audiences but form a gender-neutral audience.
Our final problem statement can be seen below:
Once that was out of the way, we take a deeper look at our "how might we"
questions with the help of Mr. Mike. This section of this collaborative
project would act as a guide in us designing the side characters,
environment, and logo/merchandise.
Just like our problem statement, there were a few good mentions of our "HMW"
questions that formed our final 3 "HMW" questions as seen below.
-but of course, after a few brainstorming moments, we got to the bottom of
forming our "HMWW" questions.
We had one last consultation online with Mr. Mike to make sure we were all
set and ready to prepare slides for our proposal, which will be shown and
consulted to Mr. Mike before the 8th week to finally propose our ideas and a
shift in the age range for the targetted audience of the animated series.
Week 7 - Proposal slides prep
Preparing proposal slides
October 12th, 2022
Once we had our "problem statement" & "HMW" questions approved, my
teammates and I worked our way into preparing the slides to show Mr. Mike
during our classes. The kind of content that had to be required into the
slides that were taken down by Lianne, Zetie, and Haura are:
PROPOSAL CONTENT
1. Contextual Research
- Objective: Convince R & D that we are aware of the similar settings/characters that match Sang Guardians.
- Take all 5 boards and summarise. (contextual studies board)
- Include our case studies - E.g. How it could be expanded on merchandising
2. The Big Issue - The correct age group (Data Analysis)
- Realized that we can now challenge the 7-11 initial target audience
- Based on the q’s it confirmed that the initial range doesn't work
- And therefore changed it to 10-13
- Propose a new age range with evidence
3. Evidence (Interview data analysis)
- Interviews are how we defend our statement with evidence from google forms data.
- Summarise interview and survey data collection (pie charts etc)
4. Insights
- Point to the top 5 ideas>themes>insights>prob statement or skip to HMW
5. How Might We?
- The client wants to know how we gonna give the solutions
- Talk abt the "how might we" individually:
HMW 1+2 ->
How do we intend to create characters that can be role models(1)/break
gender portrayal stereotypes(2)?
- Compare the Top 3 Animations and How they’ve done it.
- Show mood board, show an example of the existing top 3 animated characters that have these characteristics ( role modeling/gender stereotyping /
- E.g. “Role Model X from Country X. Characteristics why? Our role model should be..”
HMW 3 -> How we intend to create characteristics of the genre/the
setting
- How to create / what elements (color/line/ form/ shape) that would have spookiness in the environment?
We had a total of 80+ slides when we first started out our proposal slides, as
seen below:
-but after consulting with Mr. Mike we had to cut it short to at least 20 - 30 slides, there was a little irrelevant information and/or information that could be simplified and summarised even more.
Improved proposal slides:
There was a total of 49 slides after a few rounds of summarizing and simplifying each slide, making sure we had all the relevant content to propose to the client (Ms. Farhana, R&D studio) in the 8th week.
Art Direction (Content Contribution):
Since I was one of the team members that took up sketching out the environmental parts of the art direction, the sketches below are to display my contribution, not the slides.
We got to progress into proposing.
Once we improved our work and finalized the following with a final lineup, our next step is to prepare a presentation slide for each and every art of our completed tasks.
Week 8 - INDEPENDENT LEARNING WEEK.
[Oct 20th, 2022] There were no lectures held on this day due to Independent Learning Week.
Although during independent learning week when classes aren't usually held, October 19th, Wednesday was the day that my group and I propose to Ms. Farhana our ideas for Art Direction along with the proposal of a much older age range for targetted audiences for the local animated series of Sang Guardians.
Recorded Proposal session (for reference):
The proposal was a success but even then there were a few feedbacks that were given by the client herself on things to change and improve when we go into full production:
Feedback from Proposal slides (written down by Haura):
- proceed with school uniform and signature accessory designs
- continue exploring different hijab styles
- Environment: the contrast between the cutesy school environment & abandoned spookiness part of the school
- Abandoned greenhouse initially is the concept, maybe after mythical creatures came they used magic to make it more comfy and bright.
Our next step my group and I will look into our upcoming agendas that will be listed out for this collaborative project and implement them into a Gantt Chart.
Week 9 - Gantt Chart
Designing a timeline to manage production
October 27th, 2022
Progressing into the 9th week where we've completed our proposal and proposed to our collaborative client, my team and I set out on listing out our agendas to forgo into production.
The list of agendas varies from:
- Character designs
- Environment designs
- Logo designs
- Merchandise designs
These 4 factors were later broken down into detailed works where each of the members is to work within that said factor.
- Lianne and Haura: Character Dpt.
- Athirah (Me) and Zetie: Environment Dpt.
- Han Rong: Merchandise Dpt.
Each of us had our own departments of agendas to work further into the detailed works that were assisted by Mr. Mike to later then be implemented into the Gantt Chart.
After making out the lists of things to put into the Gantt chart. Next was to decide the timeline and dates of how long each of these detailed tasks will take up until the final few weeks of the semester into the submission week.
Final Gantt Chart - Timeline:
Once all the lists of tasks were put into the Gantt Chart, our next upcoming task was to look into a Master Moodboard of all the following designs/sketches/color swatches that will assist my teammates and me during our making of the production.
Week 10 - Master Moodboard
Accumulating content for our Master mood board
November 3rd, 2022
Ten weeks in and my teammates and I got into an online discussion together to start working on our Master mood board where content like:
- photography
- environment/character illustrations
- color palletes
- textures (brushes)
- typography series
-each of our findings to mark up our completed mood board was searched through sources like Pinterest, google, deviant art, etc,...
There were also implementations of the co-existing concept arts that were shown by Ms. Farhana during her proposal of the animated series. We took those images into a place of our master mood board to identify and analyze the kind of style and textures within the artwork for content similar to it.
As well as pointing out the kind of programs that will be used to share the kind of brushes (textures) between each of the members utilizing the art programs we are used to.
Haura and Lianne progressed in searching for character designs that can assist them in designing the characters for the upcoming series as well, from character designs from other artists to the kind of clothing style that can be designed into their sketches and final line up of their final character designs through these references accumulated.
Next on the list was to finish up the tasks and agendas according to the Gantt chart to later be shown and receive feedback from Mr. Mike by the upcoming week (week 11).
Week 11 - Consultation & Feedback
Receiving feedback to alter designs/experimentations
November 10th, 2022
During the 11th week, a few of our progressed works were still pending, although there were a few finished works that were semi-completed to show Mr. Mike for further feedback and quick alterations in design.
The progressed task below was done by Han Rong and Haura;
-received their feedback and applied it to each of the members, to further progress in sketching out and completing a colorized environment along with a colorized character design to be put into each other, experimenting with the kind of colors that go with each other for both characters and environments.
Other than that, the following feedback given by Mr. Mike would be more towards -
Logo/merchandise Feedback:
- Logo mark (wax seal stamp, what does it represent? In the animation itself. Calling sign when the characters use their magic/ancient sign)
- He was talking about how the logo mark can input into the animation itself like maybe it's an ancient mark that makes the girl have powers or smth like that
Character/Environment feedback:
- Jock girls' character design is a go, (?) Just the guy looks adult-ish
- The proportion of anatomy? Younger teenage anatomy (children's style?)
- 1 character fully colored, put into a dummy environment that is close to what u want to test out. (to match with the environment) just do and test out (line quality / sketchy/thick line strokes? Colors? Shaded / not shaded (character and environment must match/compliment each other)
-with the feedback in line, what was left to do next is to continue with our initial agendas but also implement comments given by Mr. Mike into works. It is to be shown again in the 12th week as our progress.
Week 12 - Consultation & Feedback
Receiving feedback to alter/progress designs/experimentations
November 17th, 2022
The 12th week is a continuation of updating Mr. Mike on the Sang Guardians' production timeline along with our agendas from each teammate.
According to what was mentioned in the previous consultation, we took Mr. Mike's feedback to mind and gave them their changes starting with the colorized concept art of the school/classroom art style of Sang Guardians along with the characters (colorized).
Other than that it was a continuous showcase of sketches and updates to Mr. Mike on each and everyone agenda's signs of progress.
My contributions involve sketches of the Sang Guardians School and greenhouse exterior along with with the props that come with it.
My groupmates and I's next step is to finalize the sketches and progress into line art and coloring for each and every sketch.
As well as a few feedbacks that were given by Mr. Mike for further minor improvements, other than that, we were heading in the right direction.
Characters feedback:
- Shoe lining, color too soft for the popular girl 2, make her belong to the others.
- Character names??
- Coach makes it look more mature. facial? puberty?
- Goth girls can possibly go more extra
Environment feedback:
- Classroom - use perspective lines to guide you, shading makes a pastel/crayon feel / sketchy feel.
- Make the workflow consistent. (one person outline / one person color)?
Logo feedback:
- Put the logo mark into the main character's eyes/put effects to propose to R&D.
- Agree as a group on the logo mark?
- “Guardians” typeface: “S” is a bit hard to read, cut off the middle to form the ‘s’ shape.
Week 13 - Progress in Agendas
Continuation in tasks
November 24th, 2022
Thirteen weeks in and my teammates and I progress into finalizing our tasks, adding colors to our sketches, and finishing up our agendas. Before looking into document-related tasks. My contributions to this group work are a display of my completed environmental sketches tasks divided between Zetie and me, transformed into their final looks.
Greenhouse - Environment & Props:
School Exterior - Environment & Props:
Logo and character design-wise, Han Rong and Lianne, and Haura, worked on their final few tasks in the Logo and Character design Dpt.
As seen below, Han Rong worked on the guideline manual for the logo and is now looking into posters of the Sang Guardians animated series along with completing mock-ups for merchandise.
While Lianne and Huara completed most of the characters' designs to finish up the character turnaround as their final agenda for the whole final character design lineup.
The next course faction is to consult Mr.Mike's opinions on further improving what we have left to finalize our work.
Week 14 - Final Consultation
Continuation and consultation in tasks
December 1st, 2022
Fourteen weeks into the collaborative project, it was a final consultation with Mr. Mike where we showed him our progress, which leads to comments and remarks. Other than that, the progression-wise was on tip-top schedule - sorta.
The received feedback from Mr. Mike for further improvements to finalize our work:
Logo/merchandise Feedback -
- Rough text logo
- Poster to sell to clients - One will do like a movie poster
- Look into tv series cartoon posters.
Character/Environment feedback -
- The color balance of popular airhead girl, kpop girl makes it more contrast (black value)
- Kpop girl removes the chains
- Headmistress includes eyes through the glasses
Environment feedback -
- Differentiate lighting style for the environment -
- Cast light
- Cooke light
- Cast shadows
- Disperse or drawn light ray
- Casting or non-casting
- Test out with characters
- outline/no outline
- Shadows disperse or drawn
- Refer to professional work
- night scenes - color values tinted - no need to transfer all the colors in night scene
- Moonlight in a dark scene
- -blue tint - hallway abandoned
- Figure out lighting
- The environment is not as strong as the character design
- Refer pitch bible for the presentation
My group and I progressed and efficiently worked through getting our improved work through from the feedback given by Mr. Mike.
Most and each of the environment concept art that I worked on is finally up to its improved final stages as seen below:
Instead of displaying the color palates for this concept art, I decided on framing it with a darker tone of tree trunks in the foreground, as well as fixing up the lighting for the nighttime scene of the concept art.
There were as well a few pieces of assistance given to me in Zetie's part of her environment illustrations, the concept art below was rendered with textures and added lighting by me.
The rest was sketched, illustrated, and colored out by Zetie, together we successfully completed each of the planned-out environment concept art that is to be illustrated. Next on the list was a final lineup of each of our agendas from the Character Design Dpt all the way to the Logo & Merch Dpt.
Side Characters - Final Line Up by Haura & Lianne |
Environment concept art - Final Line up by Athirah & Zetie |
Logo and Merchandising - Final Line up by Han Rong |
Week 15 - Final Compilation
Pitch Bible finalization
December 8th, 2022
The final week before our submission for all our output work files and agendas are to be showcased, displayed, and presented to Ms. Farhana of R&D Studio.
We started off by putting out a template for the pitch bible of our side character designs, environment concept art, and logo and merchandise in a structure of a pitch bible.
I helped out determining the sequence of the slides, Zetie & Lianne helped in designing the pitch bible to fit with the overall style of Sang Guardians, while Haura and Han Rong implement the contents in their specified departments.
Final Pitch Bible outcome - Sang Guardians Pitch Bible:
Other than completing our pitch bible, looking into our project tracking document with much more in-depth information, planning, and an overview of what was identified and analyzed while my group and I carried out this collaborative project with R&D Studio on their upcoming animate series project; Sang Guardians.
Finalized Project tracking Document - Sang Guardians:
REFLECTION
-
December 14th, 2022
Experience
Throughout these 14 weeks and an additional 2 weeks into week 15 to week 16 to fully finalize our works and prepare for a final presentation. I would say I learned a lot as a teammate as well as a leader. Throughout previous semesters I had a fair share of being within a role of a leader as well as a teammate. It was interesting to look further into leadership skills as well as managing skills based on my own perceptions and interpretations. I understood that within a team it takes getting to know the people you are working with and I'd say-
I did a very good job at reaching out and getting to know who I was working with, being aware of their strengths and weaknesses so that it would be much easier to help each other with our individual struggles during our carry-outs of the collaborative projects. Being the leader of my group meant I had to put the initiative to receive even more initiation from my teammates which happened, but it also meant maybe the way that I was around them. I wanted to create a comfortable workspace for myself and my teammates, so I made sure to not make it pressuring for them and of course not to make them feel left out when carrying out agendas.
Observation
For each of our tasks that felt the need to involve all of us, I pulled everyone in since we were all supposed to be a team, at times where were moment when designing each of our agendas I would want to take the role of "helping" them design their particular task but I had to hold myself back and put in that trust that they can be good at doing their job with the right amount of guidance, support, constructive opinions, and advice.
But I've observed that there are after-thoughts of what I should/could have done as a leader to be better at leading or asking or even requesting for a particular task to be met with a deadline. I was nice which is nothing, but I needed to understand the difference between communicating with my teams as a group leader and as a newfound friend. Each of these factors can create a comfortable workspace with them but also understand that we are a group trying to get our jobs done.
Findings
I'm glad I got to experience being able to be the kind of leader that was good to my teammates, but I understand that at times different people in a group can different and difficult. These are many of the kinds of groups of people I've yet to be in to work with or lead.
When leading my group, I've found that maybe I would have the potential of looking into managing projects as a skill to be better at, it was stressful at times but at the same time it was fun and fulfilling to solve an issue with a group of independent and skillful people!
